Why renovate ?

Rather than rebuilding everything, we renovate

A pool isn't just the tank : over the years the pump wears out, the valves seize up, a cover breaks down, the heating can no longer keep up, a leak appears. The structure, however, stays sound. We bring back to new everything that needs it, equipment as well as finish, for a fraction of the cost of a rebuild.

  • We keep the structure and repair what's causing problems
  • Plant room, filtration, cover, heating : brought up to standard
  • Leak detection and repair first of all
  • A short job compared with a rebuild

The heart of the pool

Repairing and renewing the plant room

Most breakdowns come from the plant room : pump at the end of its life, clogged filter, seized valves, leaking pipework. We diagnose the whole circuit and replace what deserves it, often gaining in quietness, flow rate and consumption.

  • Replacement of the pump, sand or cartridge filter
  • Overhaul of the plumbing, valves and skimmers
  • Leak detection and repair of the hydraulic circuit
  • Electrical and safety compliance

Cover & heating

Replace a cover, add a heat pump

An automatic cover that's broken down or slats that have snapped ? We replace the deck or the mechanism, above-ground or submerged. And if the water stays too cold, this is the moment to add or replace a heat pump : a few more degrees, several more months of swimming.

  • Automatic cover replacement (deck, slats, motor)
  • Adding or replacing a heat pump
  • Tarpaulins, covers and enclosures to extend the season
  • Safety to standard (cover, fence, alarm)
The finish

Tired liner or reinforced PVC ?

If it's the watertightness of the tank that's at fault, porous liner, wrinkles, discolouration, changing the finish is the most common renovation. We've dedicated a full page to it, with the detail of the Renolit Alkorplan colours.

The process

From the leak to the first swim

Diagnosis

Visit, leak detection and an assessment of the tank and equipment.

Preparation

Removal of the old finish if needed, reworking of the supports and the protective felt.

Fitting & welding

Installation of the reinforced membrane, heat-welded over the whole surface.

Filling

Restarting the filtration, balancing the water and swimming.

Going further

Comfort upgrades

A renovation is also the right moment to gain in comfort and enjoyment of use, beyond the simple return to working order.

Automatic treatment

Salt chlorination and pH regulation : permanently healthy water, with far less maintenance.

LED lighting

Switch to low-consumption LED lighting, with colour moods for the evenings.

Staircase & beach

Adding a comfort staircase or a submerged beach for access and relaxation.

Balneo & massage

Massage jets and bubbling baths to turn a corner of the tank into a wellness area.

Counter-current swimming

A counter-current swim system to train and swim on the spot, even in a small tank.

A new look

Finish colours, coping, beach and terrace : we redesign the look of your pool.

Your questions

Everything about renovation

Do you find leaks without breaking everything ?
Yes. We start by locating the leak (testing the tank, the hydraulic circuit, the fittings to be sealed) before intervening in a targeted way. Most leaks are repaired without demolition : often at the level of the plant room, the plumbing or a skimmer.
Can an existing automatic cover be replaced ?
Yes. We replace the deck (the slats), the motor or the complete mechanism, in above-ground as well as submerged versions. If you don't yet have a cover, we can also add one during the renovation.
Can a heat pump be added to an already-built pool ?
Absolutely. A heat pump is added to an existing pool : we install it in or near the plant room and connect it to the filtration circuit. It's one of the most requested upgrades in renovation.
Do you renovate the plant room and the filtration ?
Yes, it's often even the heart of a renovation : replacing the pump and the filter, overhauling the plumbing and the valves, electrical compliance. The result : a quieter, more economical pool that's reliable for years.
And what if it's the finish (liner or PVC) that's tired ?
That's the most common renovation. We've devoted a dedicated page to it : liner & reinforced PVC replacement, with the detail of the Renolit Alkorplan colours.
How long does a renovation job take ?
Far less than a rebuild. Depending on the state of the tank and the work (finish, plant room, cover, etc.), allow generally from a few days to two weeks. We draw up a precise schedule after the diagnosis.
